A temporary land and sea border crossing point on the border with Serbia will be opened on April 26 and 27, between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, in the town of Uivar, where the Bega Canal leaves Romania towards the neighbouring country.
According to a press release sent on Wednesday by the ITPF (Territorial Inspectorate of the Border Police), the opening of the border crossing point was requested by the Timis County Council, for the bicycle path built between Timisoara and Zrenjanin (Serbia) and on the water, on the Bega Canal, and aims to attract visitors, to the cultural events organized in the two countries.
The Timisoara Territorial Inspectorate of the Border Police has ordered measures for the prompt conduct of border checks, the same source states.
People who intend to travel to Serbia must have a valid travel document - passport or identity card. Also, minor Romanian citizens and their companions must have the necessary documents to cross the state border.
