Tennis: Oana Simion wins the futures tournament in Agadir (Morocco)

Romanian tennis player Oana Georgeta Simion won the futures tournament in Agadir (Morocco), equipped with total prizes worth 15,000 US dollars, on Saturday, 6-4, 6-1, against her fellow countrywoman Cristina Adamescu. 

Simion (aged 21, WTA's 436), seed no. 1, defeated Cristina Adamescu 922, WTA's 698), seed no. 5, in 1 hour and 19 minutes of playing. 

In the semifinals, Simion defeated Italian Nuria Brancaccio, 6-4, 6-4, and Adamescu defeated seed no. 2 Pia Konig, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1. 

Simion lost the doubles final she played alongside Croatian Marian Drazic, to the pair Pia Konig (Austria)/Miriana Tona (Italy), 4-6, 7-6 (5), 10-8. 

Oana Georgeta Simion won thus her fourth futures titles, after the ones in Iasi (2014), Casablanca (2016), Cairo (2017). AGERPRES .
