Romanian tennis player Luca Preda qualified for the round of 16 of the challenger tournament in Hersonissos (Greece), with total prizes of 54,000 euros, after defeating British Oliver Crawford 7-6 (7/5), 7-5 on Monday,
Preda (19 years old, no. 794 ATP) won after two hours and 27 minutes against the main favorite.
Crawford (26 years old, no. 188 ATP) led in the first set 5-3 and missed a set point at 6-5.
Preda secured a cheque for 900 euros and 4 ATP points, and in the round of 16 of the sixth challenger tournament in Hersonissos he will meet British Giles Hussey or Czech Petr Brunclik.
