teatrul national timisoara

The European Capital of Culture ECC2023 invites the public, in September, to stay connected to visual arts and symphonic music, European theater festivals, heritage conferences, vinyl fairs, the long-awaited Brancusi exhibition and the George Enescu International Festival.

The French Institute in Timisoara organizes, between September 1-3, the 12th edition of the Harababura Vintage Fair event, which includes an online platform for photography and sustainable fashion and a vinyl and book fair, with oriental concerts supported by the bands Ko Shin Moon from France and K not K from Romania and a contemporary dance performance Be The Storm, agerpres reports.

An absolute novelty for Timisoara, the George Enescu International Festival, opens on September 3, with Ensemble Intercontemporain, which will perform at the Capitol Hall of the Banatul Philharmonic. On September 4, during the festival, the public can enjoy a unique concert with the Fine Arts Quartet.

In a similar register, the Echo of the Synagogues will take place between September 4-7, in cities in the west of the country, where the Balanescu Quartet, together with the first cantor of the mosaic cult Emanuel Pusztai, will reach the public, through the Pantograf Association, which continues to bring in the foreground the stories and emotions that accompany synagogues and sacred spaces.

On September 6, at the Banatul Philharmonic, the well-known Romanian Chamber Orchestra invites the audience to a unique experience, through a concert full of emotion and craftsmanship, addressed to families.

Transitioning to a rock tonality, on September 6, as part of the Time to Rock 2023 project, Iulius Town will host a concert with the band Om la Luna, from Bucharest, followed by a concert by Fanfare Ciocarlia, a living legend of Balkan brass bands, returning to Timisoara through the Timis County Youth Foundation. Time to Rock will continue with other concerts on September 16, when the Omul cu Sobolani band will perform, and on September 28, Casa Tineretului will host a silent concert with the Eyedrops and Delta pe Obraz bands.

In the preview of the Brancusi exhibition in Timisoara, for five months, every Thursday, in Piata Unirii, visual artist Mihai Donici creates a project of 20 ethno-sculpture exhibitions, which foreshadows the world of Brancusi forms. The exhibitions also have the role of preparing the local public and the cultural transit public for the contextualized reception of the exhibition Brancusi: Romanian Sources and Universal Perspectives, the expected opening of which will take place on September 30.

Towards the end of the month, the TM2023 Hungarian Cultural Days will take place in Piata Victoriei, which brings Hungarian culture, music, gastronomy and traditions to the fore, celebrating, as every year, multiculturalism.

The Sabotage Festival continues between September 22 and 24 with the same approach to growing the local electronic music scene, which is positioned on the border between music and art, and this year proposes three directions: music arena, with electronic music, sound art, experiment; knowledge arena, with workshops, discussions, conferences; technology arena, with multidisciplinary arts, video projections and interactive installations.

From the series of theater festivals, EUROTHALIA European Theater Festival will take place between September 20-30, organized by the German State Theater of Timisoara and brings together theater performances, dance, theater-dance, documentary theater and puppet theater, non-verbal performances and productions with multimedia and animatronic elements from Germany, Spain, Greece, Belgium, North Macedonia, Latvia, Denmark, Bulgaria and Romania.
