The National Research Authority (ANC) announces the launch of the 2025 competitions dedicated to Romanian researchers in the diaspora.
According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Saturday, these are mobility projects for experienced researchers from the diaspora (MCD) and mobility projects for young researchers from the diaspora (MCT), carried out within Subprogram 5.2.2 - Mobilities of the National Research, Development and Innovation Plan (PNCDI IV).
Both calls aim to support and capitalize on the scientific resource represented by Romanian researchers working abroad, in order to strengthen collaboration between them and the research community in Romania, the cited source indicates.
* Mobility projects for experienced researchers from the diaspora (MCD)
The MCD competition aims to capitalize on the expertise and experience accumulated by Romanian researchers in the diaspora, by supporting their participation in meetings, visits and scientific events organized by research entities in Romania.
The funded actions will facilitate the transfer of skills, in both directions, contributing to the creation and development of a space for dialogue and collaboration between Romanian researchers, regardless of where they live and work.
MCD projects offer financial support for transportation, per diem and accommodation expenses for experienced researchers from the diaspora, for a visit of up to one week to Romania.
* Mobility projects for young researchers from the diaspora (MCT)
The MCT competition aims to develop an environment conducive to the exchange of experience and expertise between young Romanian researchers in the diaspora and those in the country, with a view to strengthening scientific cooperation between them.
The funding is intended for a Romanian researcher from the diaspora, with international visibility and recognition, having experience in research-development-innovation (RDI) activity between 2 and 9 years since the award of the PhD degree by prestigious institutions abroad.
MCT projects offer financial support for transportation, per diem and accommodation expenses for young researchers from the diaspora, for a research internship lasting between 15 and 30 days in Romania.
''These two competitions are in their third edition in 2025, underlining the ANC's firm commitment to maintaining the communication bridge between the scientific community in Romania and Romanian researchers in the diaspora, offering real contexts for knowledge transfer, the development of international networks and the support of excellence in research,'' the quoted source states.
