"The Voice of Freedom" is a cultural event the Northern Transylvania Holocaust Memorial Museum at Simleu Silvaniei (2005 - 2025) celebrating on May 11 the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camps, along with the 20th anniversary of this museum.

"This symbolic event brings to the fore music, the word, memory and hope, as forms of artistic expression and means of reaffirming the values of freedom and human dignity. The show will include a series of musical and literary moments designed to pay tribute to the victims of the Holocaust and to reaffirm the commitment to humanitarian values. Distinguished guests will bring this concept to life: Maia Morgenstern, an internationally renowned actress, will offer a poetry recital and impactful monologues; Diana Jipa, violinist, and Stefan Doniga, pianist, will give a musical recital that will complete the message of the event with emotional intensity," according to the museum.

The event is organised by the Holocaust Memorial Museum of Northern Transylvania, the Simleu Silvaniei City Hall, the Teatralis - Gabriel Stancu Association, InnoVate Production, the Centre for Culture and Art of Salaj County in partnership with the Salaj County Council, the Salaj County Directorate for Culture, the Ioan Sima Zalău Art High School, the Silvan Art Simleu Silvaniei Association, along with many other partners and sponsors.

The Northern Transylvania Holocaust Memorial Museum at Simleu Silvaniei was inaugurated in 2005, as part of a restoration project of the former synagogue in the city.

"The 20th anniversary of the Northern Transylvania Holocaust Memorial Museum at Simleu Silvaniei, Salaj County, is an important moment of commemoration and recognition of its efforts in education about the Holocaust and in promoting international projects. Founded in 2005, this museum is a place of remembrance dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust from the Northern Transylvania region and a platform for intercultural dialogue. Over the past two decades, the museum has attracted visitors from all over the world and has organised conferences, workshops and travelling exhibitions, contributing to the education of thousands of students and teachers," says the museum's director, Daniel Stejeran.
