The three-month ROBOR index, used to calculate interest rates on variable-rate consumer loans in Romanian lei, fell on Friday to 6.52% per year, down from 6.54% in the previous session, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
At the start of this year, the index stood at 5.92% per year.
The six-month ROBOR, used to calculate interest rates on variable-rate mortgage loans in lei, dropped to 6.67%, from 6.68%, while the 12-month ROBOR remained unchanged at 6.85%.
As for the reference index for consumer loans (IRCC), regulated by Emergency Ordinance 19/2019, it currently stands at 5.55% per year, calculated as the arithmetic average of daily interbank interest rates during Q1 2025, a level similar to that of the previous quarter.
