The three-month ROBOR index, which is used to calculate the cost of variable-interest consumer loans in Romanian currency - lei (RON), fell on Thursday to 6.54% per year, down from 6.55% in the previous session, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
At the beginning of this year, the index stood at 5.92% per year.
The six-month ROBOR index, used in calculating interest rates on variable-rate mortgage loans in lei, remained unchanged at 6.69% per year, while the 12-month ROBOR dropped to 6.84%, from 6.86%.
As for the Reference Index for Consumer Loans (IRCC), regulated by Emergency Ordinance 19/2019, it is currently 5.55% per year, calculated as the arithmetic average of daily interbank lending rates from the first quarter of 2025, a level similar to that of the previous quarter.
