The three-month ROBOR index, based on which the cost of consumer loans in lei with variable interest is calculated, fell on Tuesday to 6.60% per year, from 6.61% per year in the previous session, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

At the beginning of this year, the index was 5.92% per year, but it started to increase on May 6, two days after the first round of the presidential elections, when it rose to 6.08% per year.

The six-month index, used in calculating interest rates on variable-interest lei mortgages, fell to 6.75% per year, from 6.76% in the previous meeting, and the 12-month ROBOR stagnated at 6.90%.

Regarding the reference index for consumer loans (IRCC), regulated by GEO 19/2019, it is 5.55% per year, calculated as the arithmetic average of the daily interest rates of interbank transactions in the first quarter of 2025, a level similar to that of the previous quarter.
