The Transport Ministry signed the funding application for the project worth 1.95 billion lei that provides for the construction of 70 new kilometres of motorway on the Sebes-Turda segment, financed through the 2014-2020 Transport Operational Programme, the relevant minister communicated in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Monday.
The application for funding initialled on Friday, 23 November 2017 aims to implement the construction project of the Sebes-Turda motorway - Phase II submitted by the National Company for the Administration of the Road Infrastructure (CNAIR) as grant Beneficiary allocated within the 2014-2020 Transport Operational Programme.
"The main subject of the funding application is the construction of 70 kilometres of motorway, with two lanes on each direction, for the Sebes-Turda segment, situated within the TEN-T Core network and will help cut the traveling time between Sebes and Turda localities from 85.83 minutes to 53.35 minutes," the Transport Ministry specifies.
According to the quoted source, of the project's overall value, of 1.949 billion lei, 75 percent, 1.215 respectively is ensured by the European fund for Regional Development (FEDR) and 405.074 million lei from the state budget.
The project's implementation extends over a 108-month interval, until 31 December, 2022.
