The Ministry of National Defence (MApN) announced on Tuesday that troop and equipment movements will take place on Romanian territory until May 23, as part of the multinational exercise Dacian Spring 2025 (DASP 25).
Thus, according to the cited source, on May 16 and 17, the units of the Battle Group Forward deployed at Cincu are planned to move to Smardan and Spanish allied structures located at Frecatei are set to move to Smardan and Cincu. These operational activities take place under the exercise scenario and contribute to increasing the cohesion and mobility of the participating forces.
In order to limit the impact on local communities and road traffic, the majority of movements take place at night.

Approximately 4,000 soldiers and 913 technical means from 10 allied states - Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain - are participating in this large-scale allied exercise, held in the Smardan, Cincu, Capu Midia, Bogata and Frecatei ranges.
DASP 25 is planned and led by the Headquarters Multinational Division Southeast (HQ MND-SE) and its main objective is to reinforce the collective defence capability and strengthen cohesion between the allied structures. Within its framework, for the first time, a Belgian maneuver battalion is deployed on Romanian territory.
SCLE 25, planned and coordinated by the Multinational Brigade South-East, is part of DASP 25 and includes tactical field training and live firing, directly contributing to the strengthening of the reaction and deterrence capabilities in the allied context.
