The volume of turnover in retail trade (except for trade in motorvehicles and motorcycles) rose, as unadjusted series, by 5.4pct in the first ten months of this year compared to the same period of last year due to the rise in sales of food products, beverages and tobacco (+6.4pct), sales of non-food products (+6pct) and the retail trade in automotive fuel in specialized stores (+2.9pct), according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
As series adjusted by working days and seasonality, the increase was 5.9pct due to higher sales of non-food products (+6.8pct), sales of food products, beverages and tobacco (+6.8pct) and the retail trade in automotive fuel in specialized stores (+3.5pct).
