Two companies have signed concession contracts to operate in the first smart specialisation park located on the outskirts of the former mining town of Baia Sprie, Maramures County Council President Gabriel Zetea informed on Friday.
'We have signed two new contracts within the Smart Specialisation Park, a project that means development, better jobs and the chance for our young people to stay at home. The two concession contracts officially confirm the involvement of the first companies that will operate in the park. Maramures County, as the owner of the land, has allocated plots to companies that commit to developing innovative activities ranging from IT and digital production to advanced technological solutions. This is how we bring European money into the county: we work seriously, we open construction sites, we carry out the work and then we settle the costs. No empty promises, no detours, only concrete results that people can see and benefit from,' said Gabriel Zetea.
According to him, the investment in the first smart park has been estimated at 10 million euros.
'We are investing almost 10 million euros in the first smart specialisation park in Maramures. Work is underway on the access road that will connect Baia Sprie to Grosi and to Baia Mare, and the basic infrastructure, water, gas and electricity is being prepared. But the essence of this project is not just the infrastructure, it is the vision. Only truly innovative companies will enter this park: IT, artificial intelligence, aerospace technology, research and development. We want Maramures to be part of the economy of the future, not a spectator on the sidelines. I can feel the positive energy around this project. People want development, stability and well paid jobs. And we must be consistent and determined in what we do,' Gabriel Zetea added.
The County Council president also stated that the next Smart Specialisation Park will be built on the outskirts of the town of Somcuta Mare.
