The two Romanian crews participating in the auto section of the Dakar Rally Raid 2022 are in the top 60 in the general standings before the last stage in Saudi Arabia, programmed on Friday, Agerpres reports.
In the eleventh stage, taking place on Thursday in Bisha, over 346 km, the Iacob Ilie Buhai Hotea/Tudor Turdean crew finished 60th, timed at 08 h 23 min 07 sec, 4 h 53 min 35 sec from the winner, Spaniard Carlos Sainz. Mihai Ban and Stefan Catalin Ion (better known by his stage name - Cheloo) finished 61st, 5 h 02 min 41 sec from the winner.
In the general standings, the Ban/Ion crew ranks 55th, at 50 h 27 min 06 sec from leader Nasser Al-Attiyah, while Buhai Hotea and Turdean occupy the 58th position, at 56 h 18 min 39 sec.
Friday's stage, between Bisha and Jeddah, will have a length of 680 km, of which only 164 will be timed.
