Two waste shipments from Germany and Poland were denied entry by border guards in the counties of Arad and Bihor after it was found that the drivers do not have legal documents for them.

The two lorries were driven by a Romanian and a Polish and were checked at the Nadlac II and Bors II border crossings.

"As there are suspicions about the legality of the shipments, the border guards requested authorised support from the Bihor and Arad County commissions of the National Environmental and Consumer Protection Guard of Bihor and Arad. Checks revealed that the trucks lorries were loaded with 32,780 kilograms of waste, consisting of various goods, filings and non-ferrous waste that came from companies in Germany and Poland for companies in Romania," the Arad Border Police said on Wednesday.

The waste was ordered to be returned to the shippers in the two countries.
