Mountain rescuers and border police officers on Tuesday night rescued from the Maramures Mountains a Ukrainian national who had crossed the border into Romania, according to Director of the Maramures County Mountain Rescue Public Service Dan Benga.
According to him, when asking for help, the 34-year-old Ukrainian was complaining of pain in his lower limbs, being unable to move.
Mountain rescuers together with the Border Police crew from Poienile de sub Munte managed to find the 34-year-old Ukrainian. He was lowered to the location of an ambulance crew for a physical exam.
On Monday, two other young Ukrainians were rescued and extracted from the vicinity of Pop Ivan Peak, over 1,900 meters altitude, in the Maramures Mountains.
