Unity in Diversity joint message in concerts, shows on 2nd day of ProEtnica Intercultural Festival of Sighisoara

The second day of the ProEtnica Intercultural Festival in central Sighisoara was full of concerts and performances, supported by ensembles representing 11 national minorities, with the common message Unity in Diversity, Agerpres reports.

Throughout the day, tourists and spectators joined dancers in the Sighisoara Medieval Citadel's Square, the highlight being the concert held by the well-known artist Ionut Galani, in which the troupes of the Hellenic Union of Romania danced simultaneously. The evening ended with a laser and light show.

At the show offered by the ensembles of the Union of Ukrainians in Romania, in the Fortress Square, the little ones held Ukrainian flags in their hands.

Among those who carry on the traditions of ethnic Germans are the artists of the Edelweis dance group from Deta, Timis County, on behalf of the Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania.

The message "We are all brothers" was transmitted from the Pro-Etnica stage by the artists of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Romania. On behalf of the Jewish community in Oradea performed singer-songwriters Alexandrina Chelu-Schorr and Florian Chelu Madeva, who returned to the stage in Sighisoara with an original project - music on the lyrics of over 30 Jewish poets from Romania who wrote in Romanian.

The B'nei Milu Choir of the Jewish Communities of Brasov did not miss any of the 19 editions of the intercultural festival, its coordinator, Cristina Plugaru, emphasizing that Jewish artists belong to this large Pro-Etnica family.

The dance ensembles Elpis, Constanta also performed on behalf of the Hellenic Union of Romania; Eleftheria, Calafat, Dolj; Niki, Piatra Neamt; MEANDROS, Roman, Neamt County.
Also on stage were the artistic ensemble "Di Nuovo Insieme", Iasi - Association of Italians in Romania-RO.AS.IT, Serenada Group and Ensemble of Craiova - Association League of Albanians in Romania, Qarasu Ensemble, Constanta - Democratic Union of Turkish-Muslim Countries in Romania.
Present were as well the Association of Macedonians in Romania: "Sonte-Soarele", traditional dances and melodies, Craiova, Bailesti, Urzicuta, Dolj; Union of Serbs in Romania, KUD Dance Ensemble - Stara Moldava, from Moldova Noua, Caras-Severin County; The Aromanian Cultural Society, with the Armenian dance ensemble, as well as the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania, with the folk dance ensemble "Kikerics", Sighisoara, Mures County.

Representatives of Romania's 20 national minorities gathered on Thursday in Sighisoara for the nineteenth edition of the ProEtnica Intercultural Festival, the largest interethnic festival in Romania, which ends on Sunday.AGERPRES is media partner of this event.
