The Political Committee of the Save Romania Union (USR) voted on Saturday on joining the pro-European coalition government led by Ilie Bolojan and on the proposals for ministers who will become part of the new government on behalf of the USR.
There were 191 votes cast in favour of the participation of the USR in the new government, 9 abstentions and 3 against.
The four USR ministers who will be part of the Bolojan Cabinet are: Diana Buzoianu (Ministry of Environment), Oana Toiu (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Radu Miruta (Ministry of Economy and Digitalisation), Ionut Mosteanu (Ministry of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister).
USR (Save Romania Union) chair, Dominic Fritz, characterized the four future ministers as "committed, professional and hardworking" people.
Dominic Fritz stated that USR will be part of the government for the second time during the party's existence, in a context that involves a fundamental change in the way the country is governed. He underscored that president Nicusor Dan and prime minister-designate Ilie Bolojan are the guarantors that this government will not be one of crisis.
Earlier, during the party's Congress, a 10-point resolution was voted on proposed by the new party president regarding the main directions of action that USR will promote within the government.
