The interim president of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), Sorin Grindeanu, declared on Thursday, in a press conference in Targu Jiu, regarding the fact that Romania still does not have a hospital for major burns after ten years since the tragedy in the Colectiv club, that the medical unit in Timisoara will be completed this year, pointing out that "it is true that it is too late".

He was asked why Romania does not have a hospital for major burns after ten years since the tragedy at "Colectiv", although the PSD has been in government several times during this time.

"We weren't the only ones in government, there were others, but that doesn't mean that Romania shouldn't have a major burns hospital. I know very well what's happening in Timisoara, they're at a very advanced stage, I think it's a matter of time before this major burns hospital can be completed. It is a project that I know about, that the current Minister Rogobete is managing and has managed in all phases, and before he was health minister, and he is a PSD member (...) I believe that the hospital in Timisoara will be completed this year," Grindeanu said.

October 30 marks 10 years since the tragedy in the Colectiv club, when 65 people died.
