Romanian athlete Maria Magdalena Pantiru will fight for the bronze medal against Polish athlete Karolina Domaszuk, in the 68 kg category, at the Under-23 European Wrestling Championships in Tirana (Albania).
On Monday, Pantiru won her qualification match against Hungarian Karolina Pok, then defeated Serbian Masa Perovic in the quarterfinals, but lost the semifinal to Ukrainian Manola Skobelska.
Also on Monday, in the 50 kg category, Ana Maria Pirvu lost in the preliminaries to Polish Natalia Edyta Walczak.
In the 59 kg category, Ana Maria Puiu won her preliminary match against Czech Anna Michalcova, but lost the quarterfinal to Ukrainian Iulia Pahniuk.
In the women's competition, Romania will also be represented by Ana Maria Rotaru (53 kg), Georgiana Lirca (57 kg), Tania Adam (65 kg), and Paula Izabela Rotaru (72 kg).
