The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA) issued a Yellow flooding alert on Wednesday, valid until Thursday at noon, for ten river basins, including the small tributaries of the Danube.
According to hydrologists, between April 23, 13:00 - April 24, 12:00, taking into account the current hydrometeorological situation and the weather forecast for the next 24 hours, there may be flash floods, increased flow rates and levels, with possible exceedance of the Warning Levels, on the rivers in the river basins: Nera - upper basin and tributaries middle and lower basin (county Caras-Severin), Cerna - upper basin and tributaries middle and lower basin (counties: Gorj and Caras-Severin), Danube - small tributaries upstream sector S. H. Calafat (the counties of Caras-Severin, Mehedinti and Dolj), Desnatui - upper basin and tributaries of the middle and lower basin (counties of Mehedinti and Dolj), Jiu - basin upstream of S.H. Sadu and tributaries of the downstream sector of S.H. Sadu - upstream confluence with the Gilort river (counties: Hunedoara and Gorj), Motru - upper basin and tributaries of the middle and lower basin (counties: Gorj and Mehedinti) and Gilort - upper basin and tributaries of the middle and lower basin (county of Gorj).
Similar hydrological phenomena will be recorded, until midnight on Wednesday, also on the following watercourses: Timis - upstream basin of S.H. Teregova and tributaries of the downstream sector of S.H. Teregova - upstream of S.H. Lugoj (counties: Caras-Severin and Timis), Barzava - upstream basin of S.H. Moniom, Caras - upper basin and tributaries of the middle and lower basin (Caras-Severin county), Olt - tributaries of the downstream sector downstream of the confluence with the Cibin river - upstream of Acumularea Ionesti (counties: Sibiu, Valcea and Arges), Oltet - upper basin and tributaries of the middle basin (counties: Gorj and Valcea), Arges - upper basin, and Dambovita - upper basin (counties: Arges and Dambovita).
INHGA states that the Yellow flooding alert mainly targets the phenomena of significant runoff on slopes, torrents and streams, rapid floods on small rivers with possible effects of local flooding, which may occur with greater probability and intensity on some small rivers in the counties: Caras-Severin, Gorj and Mehedinti.
