YOG2018: Andreea Dragoman wins table tennis bronze medal

Romanian table tennis player Andreea Dragoman won the bronze medal at the women's singles event on Wednesday at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires 2018 .

Dragoman lost the semifinal to Japanese Miu Hirano 0-4 but beat Archana Girish Kamath (India) 4-1 (8-11, 13-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11- 9) in the bronze medal match.

Andreea Dragoman brought the seventh medal for the Romanian delegation in Buenos Aires, which is ranked 7th in the nations' list at the end of Wednesday, with 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals. The gold was won by judoka Adrian Sulca (81 kg) and weightlifter Sabina Baltag (53 kg), the silver was won by swimmer Daniel Martin and rowing crew Florin Nicolae Arteni-Fantanaru and Alexandru Laurentiu Danciu, and the bronze medals were won by weightlifter Mihaela Valentina Cambei (48 kg), and rowing crew Tabita Maftei and Alina Maria Baletchi and by table tennis player Andreea Dragoman.

The Olympic team of Romania consists of 34 athletes, 21 girls and 13 boys, competing in 14 sports.
