Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that the Ukrainian government will make a decision on the recognition of the non-existence of the Moldovan language in a week or two.
Personally I don't see any global problem with this, I don't see any problem with this. For me this is not a problem. I understand, some people would say Moldova is Romania, I understand. For me this problem is not pressing. Our government will meet and make a decision on the answer to this question. They will meet in a week or two, remember, Zelensky said in a televised discussion with Romanian journalists.
He stressed the importance of strengthening the partnership between Ukraine and Romania.
I'm sorry that I can't always think about all the small problems during the war. For a country at war this is not a problem, I am sorry. But people will get together, they will make a decision and I am sure they will find the right decision and I am sure everyone will be happy, the Ukrainian president said.
Zelensky said the governments will find solutions because we are on the same side of the fence.
Don't give Russia the chance to unbalance you, to divide you, because we need unity, the governments will sincerely find solutions, because we are on the same side of the fence, the Ukrainian President said.
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu met on Tuesday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He said that at the meeting they discussed, among other things, the rights of the Romanian minority in Ukraine.
"Today I had a constructive discussion with President Zelensky about Romania's concerns regarding the protection of the rights of the Romanian minority in Ukraine. In this context, I reiterated our legitimate request that the Ukrainian authorities recognise the non-existence of the so-called 'Moldovan language' as soon as possible," Ciolacu wrote on Facebook.
