The Finance Ministry raised 534.8 million RON and 191.3 million euros, respectively (almost 1.5 billion RON in total) through the thirteenth primary offering of Fidelis retail government securities carried out in the last four years through the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).

The value of the 13 financing rounds carried out on the BVB by the Finance Ministry topped 22 billion RON (4.5 billion euros), the BVB said in a release, agerpres reports.

"We are concluding a new Fidelis issue with good outcomes, it seems that the Romanians trust government bonds, which are considered among the safest investment methods that also offer competitive returns. Also, they are and will remain tax-free. I couldn't help remarking that through this [blood donation incentivisation] movement initiated by Rock FM's Morning Glory show, which also saw the Finance Ministry join, and which concretely tries to keep up solidarity, a community of donor-investors is already being created, of financially educated people who want to protect their savings while getting together for a noble purpose. 1,037 donors invested at the first edition, then 1,293, now 1,319. Experts tell us that the blood donated this year by Fidelis investors will save more than 10,000 lives," Finance Minister Marcel Bolos said.

"This success is due to the investors and the entire team involved in the development of the offer, specifically the Finance Ministry, the brokerage consortium and radio station Rock FM. They have proven that Romanians have investor and donor blood running through their veins," said Bucharest Stock Exchange president Radu Hanga.

The 13th primary offering of the Finance Ministry's Fidelis government securities was listed on the BVB on Monday. The initial public offering included five issues, two in euro and three in RON, one of which was dedicated to blood donors.
