18 tons of textile waste, stopped from being introduced in Romania
Two trucks loaded with 18 tons of textile waste from Belgium and Italy were stopped from entering the country, the Territorial Inspectorate of the Border Police (ITPF) Oradea informed on Wednesday.
According to the press release, border police officers from the Bors II Border Crossing Point, together with workers from the Bihor County Commissariat from the National Environmental Guard, controlled, upon entering the country, the two vehicles registered in Romania, driven by two drivers, one Romanian citizen and one Moldovan.
They were transporting used textiles, weighing 18,000 kilograms, goods that came from different commercial companies in Belgium and Italy and that were intended for companies in Romania.
"As there were suspicions regarding the legality of the transports, the border police requested authorized support from the representatives of the Bihor County Commissariat within the National Environmental Guard, establishing the fact that the drivers do not have complete documents necessary for the import of waste, as a result, the control authorities did not allow access into Romania," the press release states.
