2019 million euro non-reimbursable funds paid to farmers in October 2025

The Agency for the Financing of Rural Investments (AFIR) transferred in October non-reimbursable funds of more than 1.1 billion lei, the equivalent of 218.999 million euro, to farmers, processors and local authorities in rural areas, beneficiaries of the 2020 National Rural Development Programme and the 2027 Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan, according to a press release.

Of the entire amount paid by AFIR between 1 and 31 October 2025, the contribution of the European Commission through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development is 185.7 million euro and national cofinancing from the state budget amounts to 33.3 million euro.

The funds are intended for the implementation of investment projects in agriculture and rural development as well as for supporting farmers who receive compensatory payments for environment and climate.

Of the total payments made by AFIR in October, 174.5 million euro were transferred through the 2014-2022 National Rural Development Programme (2020 NRDP) both for investment projects and for environment and climate measures.

A further 44.5 million euro of the amount paid is intended for beneficiaries of the interventions provided under the 2023-2027 CAP Strategic Plan.
