A total of 28 deaths - 15 men and 13 women - have been recorded in patients infected with the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Sunday, Agerpres reports.
Of the 28 deaths, one was recorded in the 40-49 age group, 4 in the 50-59 age group, two in the 60-69 age group, 11 in the 70-79 age group and 10 in the age group over 80 years.
Out of a total of 28 patients who died in the past 24 hours, 25 were unvaccinated and 3 were vaccinated against COVID. The vaccinated patients were over 60 years of age and had comorbidities.
At the same time, 27 of the recorded deaths were of patients who had comorbidities, and for one deceased patient no associated diseases have been reported so far.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 59,240 people diagnosed with a SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania.
