3.2-degree earthquake in Vrancea County

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 degrees on the Richter scale occurred on Friday morning at 5:54 local time in the Vrancea seismic zone, Vrancea County, according to information published by the National Institute for Earth Physics (INCDFP).

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 143.9 kilometers, near the following cities: 46 km west of Focsani, 59 km north of Buzau, 67 km east of Sfantu-Gheorghe, 77 km east of Brasov, and 90 km northeast of Ploiesti.

Since the beginning of January, Romania has experienced 15 earthquakes with magnitudes between 2.4 and 3.5 degrees.

The most significant earthquake of 2024, with a magnitude of 5.4, took place in Buzau County on September 16.
