A number of 2,478 people infected with SARS-CoV-2 are hospitalised, of whom 63 are children, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Monday, agerpres reports.
Of the patients admitted to intensive care, 33 had a certificate attesting to vaccination against COVID.
According to data available in the alerte.ms application, nationwide, there are 1,290 ICU beds for COVID-19 patients, of which 301 in Bucharest.
In Romania, 9,672 people confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 2,534 in institutional isolation.
Also, 66,243 people are in quarantine at home, while 71 are in institutional quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 1,373 calls were registered to the 112 single emergency number.
A total of 18 deaths - 9 men and 9 women - have been recorded among the patients infected with the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Monday.
No deaths were reported from before the reference period.
According to the GCS, 15 of the patients who died had comorbidities and no comorbidities have been reported for three patients to date.
Of the 18 patients who died, 16 were unvaccinated and two were vaccinated.
The two vaccinated patients who died were between 60 and 69 years old.
All vaccinated patients who died had comorbidities.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 58,814 people diagnosed with a SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania.
