Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated on Thursday that all pieces of information regarding his educational background are clear, verifiable and in accordance with the legal framework of the respective period, a clarification made following information appearing in the public space on his studies.
"Considering the information that has appeared in the public space regarding my studies, I would like to make the following clarifications: immediately after graduating from high school, according to the regulations of that period, young people admitted to faculty served 9 months in the army, and those who did not enter college did a military service of 1 year and 4 months. In my case, I performed my military service before starting university studies, which explains the "break" mentioned between finishing high school and starting faculty. Regarding the duration of university studies, the Mathematics major had, at that time, two distinct paths: a 3-year one for those who wanted to teach in middle school and a 5-year one for those who aimed to teach in high school. I followed the 3-year form," Bolojan posted on the Government's Facebook account.
The prime minister emphasized that he made these clarifications to avoid further speculation on this subject.
"Therefore, all pieces of information regarding my educational background are clear, verifiable and in accordance with the legal framework of the respective period. I consider it important that these clarifications be known, so as to avoid further speculation on topics that can be easily clarified by facts and documents," Bolojan also stated.
In the post, the prime minister also attached two photocopies of university diplomas, one attesting to the graduation in the mechanical engineering profile at the Faculty of Mechanics, a document issued by the Technical University of Timisoara, and another regarding the graduation diploma in the "Mathematics" area at the Faculty of Mathematics, a document issued by the University of Timisoara.
