The Chamber of Deputies' plenary Wednesday voted on articles the amendments to the Criminal Code.
The final vote will take place on Wednesday, also.
The report was adopted on Tuesday afternoon by the MPs of the Special Parliamentary Committee for amending the laws of Justice, after the draft law on the amendments of the Criminal Code was greenlighted by the Senate.
The form adopted by the Senate was kept in the committee, the amendments being of a technical nature. The Committee accepted an amendment of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE) according to which, in order to establish the embezzlement offence, the prior criminal complaint against the civil servant is necessary.
Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) deputy Marton Arpad wanted the reinsertion of article 298 on the dereliction of duty which had been eliminated prior to the Senate's debate on the Criminal Code. The Committee rejected the amendment regarding the removal of the article's repeal.
The amendment draft of the Criminal Code, initiated by the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and ALDE MPs was adopted on Tuesday in the Senate's plenary sitting, as first notified Chamber.
