President Nicusor Dan said on Monday that "at the right time" there will be a discussion for the appointment of the heads of the intelligence services, as there is currently an "inflammation" on the political level.
"It is something that is related to the president and the Parliament and at this moment we all see that it is an inflammation. At the right time we will have this discussion and conclude with an appointment", the president told a press conference.
Asked about the fact that the High Court sued the Government due to outstanding salary rights, which allegedly have reached over 10 billion lei, the president replied that it is not normal for the state to owe money to certain social categories, but that there must be a balance between budgetary resources and obligations to be fulfilled.
"Here is a complex of phenomena. Those who generated them 10-15 years ago do not always pay, those who are currently making the decision pay. So, this whole cavalcade of lawsuits is not normal. What does a lawsuit mean? It means that a magistrate interpreted a law, right? And if a magistrate interpreted it in a certain sense, which was obviously not foreseen by the legislator, it means that it should have been corrected at the right time. This has not happened for 10 years and now we are paying the result of those 10 years. Obviously, it is not normal for the state to owe money to certain social categories or companies, as is the case with the consequences of energy caps, but there is always a balance between what you have to do and how much money you have in the budget", the president also said.
