American companies are keen to continue investing in Romania, and there are strong grounds for the bilateral economic relationship to strengthen in the coming years, President Nicusor Dan said on Wednesday.
In a post on Facebook, he announced that he had held talks on Tuesday with leaders of major American companies gathered under the umbrella of the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (AmCham).
"The message from American companies is that they wish to continue investing in our country and that there are solid prospects for the bilateral economic relationship to grow stronger in the years ahead. We addressed essential issues such as ensuring predictability and stability in the economic framework, cooperation in the fields of energy, critical raw materials and healthcare. We also discussed the transformations currently taking place in Romania's IT industry and highlighted the ways in which our country can strengthen its relevance by attracting American investment. I assured the American companies of our full openness to capitalising on any business opportunities, given that Romania lies at the crossroads of major global energy and trade routes," the head of state said.
