More than 12,900 people were employed in the first ten months of this year through the Bucharest Municipal Employment Agency (AMOFM), with women accounting for more than half of them, according to data published on Wednesday by AMOFM.
"A total of 12,948 people, of whom 6,520 women, were employed as a result of the implementation of the National Employment Programme, through AMOFM Bucharest between 1 January and 31 October 2025. Of the total number of people employed during this period, 4,814 were over 45 years old (over 55 years, 1,409), 4,781 were aged between 35 and 45, 2,721 were aged between 30 and 35, 297 were aged between 25 and 30 (of whom 148 NEET youth), and 335 were young people under 25 (of whom 190 NEET youth)," the institution said in a press release sent to AGERPRES.
The level of education of those placed in employment shows that most have high-school education - 5,003, followed by vocational education - 2,652, while 3,522 have higher education.
Of the total number of people employed through AMOFM Bucharest between 1 January and 31 October 2025, 3,865 (29.85%) are part of the hard-to-employ category.
"Classification into an employability category is carried out following the profiling activity of the persons registered in the records of AMOFM Bucharest. To support their integration into the labour market, jobseekers registered in the database of the employment agency in whose area they have their domicile or residence benefit from personalised packages of active measures provided under Law 76/2002 on the unemployment insurance system and the stimulation of employment, as subsequently amended and supplemented," the release also shows.
In the mentioned period, the number of people who received assistance for registration as jobseekers, in order to ensure social protection regarding unemployment benefit or inclusion in active measures, was 25,415.
