Digital and entrepreneurial education should be introduced in the educational system starting with the first grade, not as a distinct discipline, but as a red line going through all materials, said, on Tuesday, the President of the Iniative for Competitiveness, Andreea Paul, in a conference on the topic of education and entrepreneurship.
"Let's seriously ask the question if we are teaching our children not only from a functional perspective, but also from a social, digital, technological, entrepreneurial one, if you want, for a world in continuous exponential change. We are in the first hours of the quantum future or the brain-net (...) in which our work force is more and more often replaced by the power of brains, in which the fuel is data and intelligence, as we all well know, in which the power of biological knowledge will be exponentially boosted by the power of artificial intelligence. If we understand that the power of artificial intelligence will be everywhere, just as electricity has been for a century now, we will understand that school must significantly, structurally transform. The physics laboratory started after the invention of the lightbulb and electricity. Today I come and as you to seriously consider introducing in each school digital education-intelligence laboratories, areas for experimentation, for mistakes, for error, for not punishing these mistakes or errors, for innovation, for creativity that we request to children from early ages. And yes, in modern schools digital education, entrepreneurial education is done with specific programs since the first years of school, since first grade. This is the first recommendation that I make: introducing digital education starting with first grade. The Republic of Moldova has done it since 2018," said Andreea Paul.
Furthermore, the INACO president also requested the organization of digital instruction courses for teachers.
"The two requests that I am addressing to the Romanian public and private stakeholders: let's introduce by law the obligation for real digital and entrepreneurial training for teachers twice a year, and not only digital and entrepreneurial, but also everything that means modern and innovating pedagogy. And the second request is to build a smart lab, meaning a smart digital educational laboratory in each school, because the massive transformative purpose of education is free access for pupils in Romania to intelligent digital education," Andreea Paul mentioned, Agerpres.ro informs.
The INACO president added that in such digital laboratories pupils will be able to attend virtual classes together with pupils in other countries, depending on the common passions of pupils, emphasizing that access to technology will make them richer and richer, while lack of access to technology will make them poorer and poorer.
