The Ministry of Agriculture, through the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA), authorised payments totalling EUR 527.8 million for 777,670 farmers between 2 December 2025 and 14 January 2026, representing regular payments for the 2025 claim year.
According to a press release sent to AGERPRES, more than EUR 500 million of this amount has already been transferred to beneficiaries' accounts, covering 666,058 farmers.
"Timely payment of subsidies is a priority for us and a guarantee of stability for Romanian farmers. Through these substantial amounts, we are ensuring the resources needed to continue agricultural work, support investments and maintain the competitiveness of Romania's agri-food sector,'"said Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Florin-Ionut Barbu, as quoted in the release.
The authorisation and payment process will continue in line with the established timetable, so that financial support reaches all eligible farmers as quickly as possible, the ministry added.
