In 2025, the arrivals in the establishments of tourists' reception (including apartments and rooms for rent) amounted to 13.9 million persons, 2.4% less compared with 2024, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS) data published on Friday.
In 2025, the arrivals of the Romanian tourists in the establishments of tourists' reception with functions of tourists' accommodation were 81.4% of the total arrivals, while the foreign tourists were 18.6%.
Last year, the overnight stays in the establishments of tourists' reception (including apartments and rooms for rent) amounted to 29.685 million, 1.7% less compared to 2024.
Of the total overnight stays, those of Romanian tourists represented 82.1%, while overnight stays by foreign tourists represented 17.9%.
The average length of stay was 2.1 days for both Romanian and foreign tourists.
The net use index of accommodation places was 29.8% on total tourists' accommodation structures (including apartments and rooms for rent), 1.1 percentage points less compared with 2024.
By county, the number of tourists' arrivals in the establishments of tourists' reception with functions of tourists' accommodation (including apartments and rooms for rent) in 2025 recorded higher values in: Bucharest Municipality (2.05 million persons), Constanta (1.8 million persons) and Brasov (1.3 million persons), while the number of tourists' overnight stays in the establishments of tourists' reception with functions of tourists' accommodation (including apartments and rooms for rent) recorded higher values in: Constanta (5.5 million persons), Bucharest Municipality (4.1 million) and Brasov (2.6 million).
By country, the most arrivals of the foreign tourists accommodated in establishments of tourists' reception with functions of tourists' accommodation (including apartments and rooms for rent) in 2025 came from: Germany (246,500 persons), Italy (225,000 persons) and Israel (182,600 persons).
In December 2025, the arrivals in the establishments of tourists' reception (including apartments and rooms for rent) amounted to 907,400 persons, decreasing by 5.8% compared to December 2024. The arrivals of the Romanian tourists were 78.1% of the total arrivals, while the foreign tourists were 21.9%.

December 2024, while the foreign tourists' overnight stays stood at 24.9%.

In December 2025, the net use index of accommodation places was 23.2% on total tourists' accommodation structures (including apartments and rooms for rent), decreasing by 1.9 percentage points compared to December 2024.
