AUR to table motion of censure against Ciolacu gov't early next parliamentary session

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (USR) says that it will table a motion of censure against the government led by Marcel Ciolacu immediately after the start of the parliamentary session, told Agerpres.

"The purpose of the AUR action is to stop the anti-national policy promoted by the PSD-PNL[Social Democratic Party - National Liberal Party] coalition and to repeal the pieces of legislation promoted by the governments led by Nicolae Ciuca and Marcel Ciolacu under which thousands of Romanian construction and agricultural companies are threatened with bankruptcy," reads a press statement released on Thursday by AUR.

According to AUR, a new government that is "responsible and dedicated to the national cause" must adopt as soon as possible a series of vital decisions for the recovery of the economy and for the social stability of Romania: priority for Romanian farmers in accessing the port of Constanta and public infrastructure; charging large taxpayers a tax of 1% of their turnover; maintaining the tax incentives for construction and agriculture at the current level; stopping tax increases on micro-enterprises.

"We are calling on all the political forces that are in opposition to the Ciolacu-Ciuca government to support the motion of censure of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians and to contribute to the political and economic liberation from the domination of this anti-national coalition."
