Benefit concert in support of victims in Ukraine to take place in Iasi

A benefit concert will be held at the "Stefan Procopiu" Museum of Science and Technology within the Moldova National Museum Complex in Iasi, in partnership with the "Crescendo Events" Association, in support of the victims in Ukraine.

According to a press release, the concert, held by pianists Alina Andriuti-Shemchuk and Ivan Shemchuk, will take place on Monday, April 4, starting at 6:00 pm, in the "Henri Coanda" Hall at the Palace of Culture in Iasi.

"The repertoire includes works by composers Franz Schubert, Antonín Dvorak, Frederic Chopin, Moritz Moszkowski, Viktor Kosenko, Mykola Leontovych, Vasyl Barvinsky. The entrance is free, within the available places, and the funds collected from the donations will be deposited in the account of the Christian Association Youth With A Mission Iasi," states the cited source.

According to the press release, Ivan Shemchuk, born in 1994 in Chernivtsi (Ukraine), in a family of musicians, studied at the Music School in Chernivtsi, the class of Prof. Elvira Ryzhonok, continuing at the "Solomiya Krushelnytska" Lviv Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School, under the guidance of Prof. Ludmila Zakopets. In 2018, he earned a master's degree with distinction at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz (Poland), Agerpres.ro informs.

Alina Andriuti-Shemchuk was born in 1995, in Balti (the Republic of Moldova), in a family of musicians. She studied piano at the "Octav Bancila" National College of Art in Iasi, under the guidance of professors Ionela Tudor and Carmen Zaharia-Danicov, demonstrating special qualities in piano interpretation. She earned a Master's degree from the "Feliks Nowowiejski" Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz (Poland) in 2018.

The two musicians, who also performed at the Palace of Culture, in September 2019, have won numerous awards at international competitions, including those for "piano duo" and have given concerts - solo, with orchestra, chamber music - in many countries in Europe.
