The National Bank of Romania (BNR) will put into circulation as of Monday, for numismatic purposes, a mint set dedicated to "The 1906 Romanian General Exhibition - 120 years since its inauguration."
According to a release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday, the mint set includes Romanian circulation coins with nominal values of 1 ban, 5 bani, 10 bani and 50 bani in proof-like quality, as well as a silver medal in proof quality.
The technical characteristics of the silver medal are: fineness - 800/1000; diameter of 28 mm; weight of 15.5 g; round shape, flat edge.
The obverse features a general view of the Romanian General Exhibition, the inscriptions "EXPOZITIA GENERALA ROMANA," "120 DE ANI" and the year "2026."
The reverse depicts the portrait and name of King Carol I, the pavilion of the Royal House at the Exhibition, and the inscriptions "40 DE ANI DE DOMNIE," "25 DE ANI DE LA PROCLAMAREA REGATULUI ROMANIEI" and the year "1906."
The mint set comes as a folder in a case, with the minted items being inserted in special slots.
The mintage of this numismatic issue is 1,000 sets.
The selling price of the mint set is lei 630.00, VAT included.
The mint sets dedicated to "The 1906 Romanian General Exhibition - 120 years since its inauguration" are put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Craiova, Iasi and Timisoara.
