National Day urges us to have confidence in Romania and in ourselves, says Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan on the occasion of December 1st.

"Dear Romanians, the Great Union of 1918 is, I believe, the most beautiful moment in our national history. It is the foundation of today's Romania, it is the memory of the great sacrifices in the First World War and it is a permanent lesson of Romanian solidarity. December 1 urges us to have confidence in Romania and in ourselves. Romanians can and Romania can overcome difficulties, climb higher, build a better future," he says, according to a press release sent by the Government.

The unification of 1918 gave us the right to be a whole nation, but also the duty to work for the national welfare, adds the Head of Government.

"The duty of a Romanian and the duty of a citizen go hand in hand, and when we fulfill this double duty, Romania moves forward. Therefore, every public service that functions more efficiently, every work well done, every quality product and every successful investment, public or private, represents a real form of patriotism. Thank you to all those who, through work and decency, make Romania a better place. Happy birthday, Romania! Happy birthday, Romanians - from the country and from the diaspora!," Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan's message also reads.
