The Romanian border police discovered a car wanted by the authorities in Poland within the premises of an operator at the Constanta Port. The vehicle was in the possession of a Georgian citizen who intended to load it onto a ship and export it to his country of origin, the Coast Guard reports on Wednesday.

According to the same source, border police from the Constanta Sud - Agigea Border Crossing Point, together with Frontex officers, carried out an inspection at a port operator's premises of a car registered in the Republic of Poland, valued at 70,000 euros, which was in the possession of a Georgian citizen.

'Following verification of the documents presented, as well as the chassis number, it was established that the vehicle appeared in the databases as being sought for confiscation by the authorities of the Republic of Poland. The vehicle, estimated to be worth 70,000 euros, was to be loaded onto a RO-RO ship (a vessel designed for transporting goods internationally, with loading/unloading ramps or tracks) for export to Georgia,' the Coast Guard's press release said.

The border police seized the vehicle and opened a criminal case for the offence of concealing goods.
