Culture Minister Demeter Andras said on Thursday, in Targu Jiu at the Romanian Graphics Exhibition - BRANCUSI 150, opened simultaneously in 21 countries, that the event is one that unites as many people as possible in the same emotion, even when they are far from each other.
"The exhibition we are opening today is testimony that Brancusi continues to speak to us, to challenge us, to bring us together in a meeting that takes place at the same time on six continents. It is perhaps one of the most beautiful proof of the essential purpose of art, that of uniting as many people as possible in the same emotion, even when we are far from each other, even when we do not share the same opening room, the same city, the same time zone, the same language. Art makes us vibrate in unison, and today, people from 21 countries will enter the dialogue, each in their own way. Brancusi created with an almost mythical force, he led the form with authority, (...) he loved photography and practiced it out of passion as another form of artistic exploration, he was fascinated by the way light falls on surfaces, by the tension between full and empty, by the balance of composition", Demeter said at Constantin Brancusi National Museum in Târgu Jiu.
