The Bucharest - Ilfov Ambulance Service registered, in the last four days, 5,542 requests, of which 3,462 were for people who presented code red and code yellow emergencies, SABIF manager Alis Grasu said on Wednesday for AGERPRES.
"In the last four days of the heat wave, 5,542 requests were registered and made at the Bucharest-Ilfov Ambulance Service. Of these, 3,462 cases were code red and code yellow emergencies. There were also 490 people who were in public place when they needed an ambulance. A number of 80 people presented fainting, i.e. a feeling of loss of consciousness, and 39 people presented syncope, they even lost their state of consciousness for a short time," the SABIF manager said.
In the last 24 hours, there was an increase in the number of requests by approximately 6% compared to the previous day, said Alis Grasu.
Thus, in the last 24 hours, 1,462 requests were registered, of which 856 code red and code yellow emergencies, 134 cases in public places, 19 fainting spells and 13 syncopes.
The National Meteorological Administration issued, on Tuesday, new warnings of heatwave and severe thermal discomfort, valid during the days of July 9 and 10, throughout the country.
In Bucharest, during Wednesday, the heat wave will intensify. An orange code will be in force for the Capital and the counties of Arad, Timis, Caras-Severin, Mehedinti, Dolj, Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Ilfov.
