Bucharest Referendum - provisional results: More than 60pct of the votes were Yes to all questions

The referendum initiated by the general mayor of the capital city Bucharest, Nicusor Dan, was validated both in terms of turnout and positive answers to the three questions asked, according to the provisional results, published in real time on the website of the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP).

*** To the question "Do you agree that the General Mayor of Bucharest should issue building permits throughout the administrative territory of the city?", after centralizing the minutes from 1,279 polling sections (99.22%), there were counted 473,840 "Yes" votes (66.44%) and 239,354 "No" votes (33.56%).

*** To the question "Do you agree that the distribution between the City Hall of Bucharest and the district city halls of income taxes and local taxes and duties collected from Bucharest residents be approved by the General Council of Bucharest?", after centralizing the minutes from 1,279 polling sections (99.22%), 458,604 "Yes" votes (64.39%) and 253,592 "No" votes (35.61%).

*** To the question "Do you agree that the Bucharest City Hall should finance and implement a health education and drug prevention programme in all schools in Bucharest?", after centralizing the minutes from 1,279 sections (99.22%), 603,302 "Yes" votes (84.55%) and 110,263 "No" votes (15.45%) were recorded.

By 9:00 p.m., Sunday, 731,990 citizens had voted in the referendum initiated by the mayor general, Nicusor Dan, in the capital, i.e. 40.96% of those registered on the electoral lists, according to data provided in real time by the Permanent Electoral Authority.

The referendum reached the 30% attendance threshold to be validated around 5:00 p.m.
