Bucharest Science Festival to kick off on September 24

The Bucharest Science Festival (BSF), a festival dedicated to science and technology, returns in its 13th edition between September 24-28, with a multitude of exciting events that make science available to everyone.

Thus, for five days, the festival transforms various places - malls, libraries, museums, bookstores and public spaces - into laboratories of knowledge, inspiration and exploration, for enthusiasts of all ages.

According to organisers, attending the BSF will be scientists from Romania, France, Italy, Spain and Greece.

The schedule includes the following events:

* "On land and on water: the inhabitants of the Danube Delta 6,500 years ago" - exhibition hosted by Bucharest Mall .

* Schools Science Show on September 24, at Bucharest Mall, pupils and students become teachers for a day! At the Science Show, children, adolescents and young people from schools, high schools and colleges will present spectacular chemistry experiments, demonstrations of robotics, virtual reality and 3D printing. They participate as exhibitors and teams from the Politehnica University, the University of Bucharest and the Military Technical Academy.

* From Galileo Galilei to thermonuclear fusion - on September 25, at the Humanitas Cismigiu Bookstore.

* Kids' Lab - on September 25, at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnologies, chemistry workshops for students between 7 and 13 years old, where the little ones become scientists for a day. Under the guidance of the Politehnica students and professors, the participants experiment safely, ask bold questions and explore amazing phenomena.

* Humanism & AI: challenges and opportunities on September 25, at the Faculty of Philosophy, a round table on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on humanity. Professors from the University of Bucharest, the University of Athens and the University of Madrid will participate.

Also, visits for students will be organised to the laboratories of the Faculty of Electronics and the CAMPUS centre of Politehnica, in those of the faculties of Biology, Chemistry and Physics of the University of Bucharest and at the Military Technical Academy - between September 24-26. On September 27, the Baneasa Fire Department will welcome families with children, as well as the public of any age, to find out how a firefighting machine is built and to meet the soldiers who defend us, day after day, from disasters.

On September 28, the General Aviation Inspectorate of the Ministry of Interior will present, at Baneasa Airport, helicopters used in emergency management, including the famous Blackhawks. In the same period, the Science Days event will take place in Adjud, held under the aegis of the Bucharest Science Festival, in partnership with the Gheorghe Bals Technical Collegiate High School.

Through exhibitions, debates, interactive workshops, demonstrations and conferences, the festival aims to promote scientific literacy in an accessible and engaging formula.
