Bucharest Security Conference to unfold in Bucharest Friday, Saturday

The third edition of the Bucharest Security Conference, one of the leading international security and defence conferences in Romania addressing recent developments in the security and defence agenda at the eastern Euro-Atlantic frontier will take place in Bucharest on Friday and Saturday according to Agerpres.

The conference, organised by the National School of Political and Administrative Studies (SNSPA), will bring together senior decision-makers, academics and experts to analyze and discuss relevant themes such as the implementation of key decisions of the Warsaw NATO Summit and a Brussels meeting in 2018; the recent developments in the relations between the European Union and NATO; regional security; the role of strategic communication in the Euro-Atlantic security architecture; resilience; hybrid warfare; security in the Western Balkans; energy security, and cyber security.

Bucharest Security Conference 2018 will highlight Romania's role in the region as a stability provider, and the purpose of this conference is to intensify dialogue and promote a shared understanding and vision among all NATO member states over the risks and threats we face, according to SNSPA.

The speakers who have confirmed their presence are: NATO Deputy Secretary General for Public Diplomacy Tacan Ildem; Vice-President of the European Parliament Ioan Mircea Pascu; Representative of the UN Secretary General and Director of the United Nations Office of the United Nations in Belgrade Simona Miculescu; Zurawski vel Grajewski, advisor to the Polish foreign minister; Sorin Ducaru, a former NATO deputy secretary-general for emerging challenges; and Juan Ozores Masso, deputy commander, NATO Force Integration Unit Romania.
