Bucharest Stock Exchange closes higher in Thursday's trading session

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) closed higher on most indices in Thursday's trading session, with total turnover amounting to nearly 128 million RON (25.1 million EUR).

The main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BET, which tracks the 20 most traded companies listed on the Regulated Market, rose by 1.66% to 28,169.14 points, while BET-Plus, which reflects the performance of the 43 most liquid shares on the exchange, also ended the session up 1.58%.

The BET-BK index, the benchmark for investment fund returns, gained 0.86%, while BET-NG, which measures the performance of the ten energy and utilities companies, advanced by 2.08%.

The extended blue-chip index BET-XT, which includes the 25 most liquid shares, increased by 1.61%, whereas BET-FI, the index of financial investment companies (SIFs), closed marginally lower by 0.03%.

The BET AeRO index, comprising 20 representative companies on the AeRO market, rose by 0.36%.

The most liquid shares were those of Banca Transilvania, with transactions worth 18.2 million RON, followed by Digi, with 15.2 million RON, and Hidroelectrica, with 14.3 million RON.

The best performances were recorded by Romgaz shares (+5.12%), Digi (+4.39%) and BRD (+3.64%).

The sharpest declines were posted by Societatea de Constructii Napoca (-11.97%), Aerostar (-4.76%) and Romcab (-4.43%).
