Bucharest Stock Exchange closes lower in last trading session of the week

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) closed lower in the last trading session of the week, with total turnover amounting to RON 83.86 million (EUR 16.48 million).

The main BET index, which tracks the 20 most traded companies listed on the Regulated Market, fell by 0.41% to 23,857.77 points, while BET-Plus, reflecting the performance of the 43 most liquid stocks on the exchange, closed down 0.39%.

The BET-BK index, the benchmark for investment funds, ended the session down 0.50%, while BET-NG, which measures the performance of ten energy and utilities companies, recorded a decline of 0.15%.

The extended blue-chip index BET-XT, covering the 25 most liquid stocks, dropped by 0.42%, while the BET-FI index of financial investment companies closed down 0.44%.

The BET AeRO index, which includes 20 representative companies from the AeRO market, gained 0.15%.

The most liquid stocks were those of Banca Transilvania, with transactions worth RON 18.70 million, followed by Hidroelectrica shares at RON 7.52 million and OMV Petrom at nearly RON 6.12 million.

The strongest gains were posted by Societatea de Constructii Napoca (+14.41%), Comelf (+2.27%) and Altur (+1.64%).

The steepest declines were recorded by Armatura (-12.50%), Promateris (-5.38%) and MF Capital (-3.24%).
