Bucharest Stock Exchange closes Wednesday's trading session higher

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) closed Wednesday's session higher, with trading of 67.98 million RON (13.42 million EUR).

The value of shares traded amounted to 53.1 million RON, while bond transactions reached 11.75 billion RON.

The main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BET, which includes the 20 most traded companies listed on the Regulated Market, increased by 1.68pct, to 21,176.99 points, while BET-Plus, which shows the evolution of the 43 most liquid shares on the Exchange, closed higher by 1.58pct compared to the previous day.

The extended blue-chip index BET-XT, of the 25 most liquid stocks, recorded an advance of 1.57pct, while the SIF index, BET-FI, went up 0.68pct.

The BET-BK index, the benchmark for investment fund performance, rose by 1.12pct, while the BET-NG, which measures the performance of ten energy and utility companies, recorded an increase of 2.16pct.

The BET AeRO index, which includes 20 representative companies on the AeRO market, closed down by 0.12pct.

The most liquid stocks were those of Banca Transilvania, with transactions of 13.95 million RON, followed by OMV Petrom shares, with 6.52 million RON and Hidorelectrica, with 5.65 million RON.

The best developments were recorded by Santierul Naval Orsova shares (+6.18pct), SIF Hoteluri (+6pct) and Mecanica Ceahlau (+5.45pct).

On the other hand, the most significant decreases were recorded by the shares of Compa (-4.67pct), Bucharest Stock Exchange (-4.26pct) and Turism Felix (-3.76pct).
